About Us

The Syracuse Teachers Association is the exclusive bargaining agent representing four bargain units (1,7,8 & 10) within the Syracuse City School District. The STA represents teachers, teaching assistants, food service workers, school nurses and more.

The STA is a member of the American Federation of Teachers, National Education Association and New York State United Tearchers. The STA is also a member of the AFL-CIO.

The STA represents over 3400 members. Those members also work hard to stay involved in community activites to ensure that there is a community aspect within the schools. Some of the activites the STA members take part in a The Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk, St. Baldricks, The Corporate Challenge and more.
